LUTUNKU COMMUNITY POLYTECHNIC is amongst the institutions created by the government of the government of the Republic of Uganda under the Ministry of Education and Sports, Department of Business Technical Vocational Education and Training (BTVET) in 2003. It was established under the presidential pledges as part of the solution to the unemployment challenge facing the youth in Sembabule District and in line with skilling Uganda.
The polytechnic has one campus with an administration block, a computer laboratory, and two twin workshop for GDC and FPP, MVM and C&J, dormitories for male and female students, a multipurpose hall and a kitchen.

For modernization of land records system in the country, a modified programme, viz., the National Land Records Modernization Programme (NLRMP) has been formulated by merging two Centrally-sponsored schemes of Computerization of Land Records (CLR) and Strengthening of Revenue Administration and Updating of Land Records (SRA&ULR). The NLRMP was approved by the Cabinet on 21.08.2008.
